Slaughter Lifts Dodgers to 13-7 Win
Brooklyn right fielder Enos Slaughter was instrumental in helping the Dodgers triumph, 13-7, over the Boston Braves. Slaughter was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The Dodgers, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.

Phil Rizzuto was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Brooklyn. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Denny Galehouse. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Slaughter told the Brooklyn Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
