Senators Send St. Louis Home with 5-4 Loss
The Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns played an entertaining game for Griffith Stadium patrons.

The Washington Senators locked up a win at Griffith Stadium, knocking off the St. Louis Browns, 5-4. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Jack Kramer. He played a major role in the triumph. The win puts Washington at 8-8.

Had Bobby Doerr not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Doerr hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Senators.

"Jack showed what he's made of," said Washington manager Ossie Bluege.
