Cincinnati Slaps 6-1 Loss on Philadelphia
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-1, in NL action at Crosley Field. The standout performance belonged to Cincinnati pitcher and Loyal, Wisconsin, native Al Brazle. The loss drops Philadelphia to 8-9.
Making an impact for Cincinnati was shortstop Eddie Miller. Eppie drilled a run-scoring double off Ewell Blackwell in the bottom of the second. For the game, Miller was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs.
Miller told a Cincinnati News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
