Dodgers Win at St. Louis, 2-1
|
Brooklyn pitcher Howie Pollet did his part in helping his team defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. George Caster earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. St. Louis drops to 7-11.
Brooklyn took a 2-0 lead on Pete Reiser's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Reiser hit in the top of the seventh, left St. Louis pitcher Johnny Rigney visibly frustrated.
"We put together a nice win," Reiser said.
