The Cincinnati Reds and New York Giants played an entertaining game for Crosley Field patrons.

The Cincinnati Reds spoiled a good performance by New York center fielder Goody Rosen, bumping off New York, 6-5, at Crosley Field. Rosen went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. New York drops to 13-7.

The Reds got a big at-bat from first baseman Babe Young. For the game, Young went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 4th double of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-0 lead.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Young. "You've got to get results."
