Braves Win, 6-2, at St. Louis
|
Boston pitcher Dizzy Trout did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Trout yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-3. St. Louis is 7-12 after the loss.
Boston used the timely hitting of Erv Dusak to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Braves on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had a nice day," said Boston skipper Billy Southworth.
