Reds Deal New York 9-4 Defeat
Cincinnati picked up a win at Crosley Field, bumping off the New York Giants, 9-4. Pitcher Bob Muncrief was a major reason the Reds emerged victorious. Muncrief yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1. His record improves to 3-2. The defeat makes New York 13-8.

Whitey Kurowski hit a 2-run double off Johnny Niggeling in the bottom of the first, which put the Reds in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Kurowski had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Reds manager Bill McKechnie.
