Yankees Pin 7-4 Loss on St. Louis
|
The New York Yankees picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the St. Louis Browns, 7-4. Starting pitcher Virgil Trucks played a key role in the triumph. The Browns drop to 11-11 and continue their mediocre start to the 1946 season.
Bill Rigney contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. His at-bat helped New York get the win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rigney said after the game.
