Senators Win, 6-2, Versus Detroit
|
The Washington Senators locked up a win at Griffith Stadium, knocking off the Detroit Tigers, 6-2. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Jack Kramer. He played a major role in the triumph. The win gives Washington a record of 11-10.
Washington took a 3-2 lead on Mickey Livingston's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Livingston hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Detroit pitcher Johnny Vander Meer visibly frustrated.
Livingston told a Washington Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
