Newsom Records 2-0 Shutout Against Brooklyn
|
Bobo Newsom kept the Brooklyn Dodgers hitters from doing much damage at Crosley Field.
Brooklyn could only muster 3 hits and draw 3 walks against the right-handed Newsom, who controlled them throughout the game. Cincinnati won the contest, 2-0. Newsom added 5 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Newsom told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
For the season, Newsom has logged 2 wins and 4 losses and struck out 24 batters in 49.1 innings while compiling a 2.01 ERA.
