The New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox, 8-4, at Yankee Stadium. New York left fielder Ralph Kiner had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. For the Red Sox, the loss makes them 9-16.
The fans who filled the stands at Yankee Stadium to watch the AL action seemed to enjoy the game.
