Giants Shut Out Braves, 3-0
Johnny Niggeling never let Boston get something going. The New York right-hander commanded his knuckleball in pitching the Giants to a 3-0 win. Niggeling yielded no runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 5, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-2. Lefty Wilkie closed the game out for New York, earning his 1st save.

Lou Boudreau, who is tied for 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. Boudreau contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 1-0.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Boudreau, "and then get after it again."

For the Braves, the loss makes their record 9-17.
