Cardinals Earn Late 7-6 Win
The Cincinnati Reds got a superb performance from third baseman Whitey Kurowski, but the St. Louis Cardinals still won the game, 7-6. Kurowski was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. After losing, Cincinnati is 12-16.

Frank McCormick was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Enjoyed this one," McCormick told the St. Louis Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
