Braves Get Clutch Win Versus Pittsburgh
Boston picked up a win at Braves Field, bumping off the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-3. Pitcher Denny Galehouse was a major reason the Braves emerged victorious. With the win, Boston goes to 11-19.

Had Joe Schultz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Schultz hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Braves.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Pittsburgh manager Frankie Frisch. "But we decided not to take it."
