Chicago took on Philadelphia in front of a lively crowd.

Bill Bevens, who is tied for 4th in the NL in complete games with 5, was locked in. The right-hander led the Chicago Cubs to a 6-2 win against the Philadelphia Phillies at Shibe Park. The Phillies fall to 11-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.

In the top of the first, Clyde McCullough delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Chicago catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Cubs in front, 6-2.

"Winning never gets old," said McCullough.
