Boston beat St. Louis in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Led by Charlie Keller, the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Browns, 7-1. Keller was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Red Sox. Hal Schumacher, the winner, improved to 1-4. He held the Browns to no runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 5.

"Charlie leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Boston manager Joe Cronin.
