The Chicago White Sox powered past the Washington Senators, 10-4, at Comiskey Park. Stan Musial provided some of the pop. Stan the Man was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Joe Dobson, who went 9 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 3-4. Chicago is third in the AL with a record of 16-15.

With Chicago leading 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Musial came up to bat against Washington pitcher Ken Burkhart. Musial hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the White Sox on top, 9-2.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Chicago manager Jimmy Dykes.
