The Browns grabbed a win, 5-4, at Sportsmans Park, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Tex Hughson. Hughson went 8.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The winner was Bob Feller, who threw 155 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 12 hits.

The two teams entertained the Sportsmans Park crowd with some good baseball.
