Cardinals Reel In 4-1 Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies.
Starting pitcher Cliff Fannin was a major factor in the 4-1 St. Louis Cardinals triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies. Fannin yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 5, and struck out 2. His record improves to 4-0. Allie Reynolds picked up his 2nd save of the season.
Ken Keltner, who is a five-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Keltner contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put St. Louis up, 2-0.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Fannin.
St. Louis is 17-15 and Philadelphia, with the loss, 13-18.
