Chicago Sent Home with 3-0 Loss
|
Boston right-hander Joe Coleman pitched his team to victory over the Chicago Cubs at Braves Field. The final score was 3-0. The winning pitcher was Coleman, now 1-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The loss makes Chicago 20-13.
Boston catcher Joe Schultz contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Braves ahead, 2-0.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Schultz.
