Cardinals Get Clonked by Giants, 7-3
|
Billy Herman helped his team muscle past the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-3. In the game, the New York second baseman was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Today's win puts New York at 21-15, while St. Louis falls to 18-17.
With New York leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Herman hit a run-scoring single off St. Louis hurler Thornton Lee. It was the 33rd hit of the season for Herman and put his team ahead, 4-2.
Herman told a New York Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
