Down to Defeat Goes Cleveland, 3-2
|
Bill Lee, who is a two-time All-Star, had a strong outing for the Boston Red Sox against the Cleveland Guardians at Cleveland Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The losses continue to mount for Cleveland, which has now dropped 9 in a row.
Boston relied on the hitting of Pete Suder to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-1. For the game, Suder had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Lee.
