Giants Take Tight Tangle
The New York Giants eked out a 3-2 win versus the Boston Braves at Polo Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Johnny Niggeling. He was terrific. The Giants now have a record of 22-16 with the win over Boston.

The Giants were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 34-year old right fielder Taffy Wright landed a big blow. He turned a 2-0 fastball from Dizzy Trout into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Polo Grounds denizens into a frenzy and sent the Giants home with a thrilling 3-2 win.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Boston manager Billy Southworth.
