Boston and New York duked it out and the Braves came out victorious.

Boston catcher Joe Schultz made his presence felt in the 8-5 Braves triumph over the New York Giants. Schultz went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Denny Galehouse got credit for the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 3 runs on 12 hits in 8 innings.

Jeff Heath, who is tied for 8th in the NL with a .391 on-base percentage, helped out the Boston cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2.
