Masterson Records 4-0 Shutout Against Washington

Washington could only muster 4 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Masterson, who controlled them throughout the game. Philadelphia won the contest, 4-0. Masterson added 7 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Masterson told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
