Senators Topple Yankees, 15-7, as Marion Shines
The Washington Senators stormed past the New York Yankees, 15-7, at Yankee Stadium. Washington shortstopMarty Marion , who won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1944, led the hit parade. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Washington has a record of 19-21. New York falls to 24-17.

Washington left fielder George Case contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Senators ahead, 4-3.

In postgame comments to the Washington Daily, Marion said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
