The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Fenway Park, courtesy of Nels Potter. The right-hander helped his team stop the Washington Senators, 3-1. The Red Sox go to 17-27 with the win.
Boston right fielder Gene Hermanski helped the Red Sox go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Hermanski hit a run-scoring single off Washington pitcher Jack Kramer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Hermanski said.
