Chicago third baseman George Kell helped his team beat the Boston Red Sox, 4-3. Kell went 3 for 4 for the White Sox. The win puts Chicago at 22-21 this season.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Ron Northey to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the White Sox on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

After the game, Chicago manager Jimmy Dykes applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
