The Philadelphia Phillies got production from their entire lineup in an easy 16-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Doing his part was shortstop Pee Wee Reese. Reese, who is tied for 5th in the NL in runs scored with 31, went 3 for 7 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. With the win, the Phillies sit at 24-19.

Billy Johnson hit a run-scoring triple off Murry Dickson in the top of the first, which put the Phillies in front, 1-0. Johnson had 3 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 4 for 6.
