Gregg Tosses 5-0 Shutout
|
Hal Gregg of the Detroit Tigers shut out the Cleveland Guardians, 5-0, at Cleveland Stadium, holding them to 6 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Cleveland skipper Louis Farmer called the outing from Gregg "a jewel."
"The way Gregg was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
