Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Guardians.

Philadelphia pitcher Tex Hughson did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Guardians, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Philadelphia is now 24-25, while Cleveland is 19-28.

Hughson, a native of Buda, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Cleveland hitters off-balance, while giving the Athletics 9 quality innings. Hughson threw 114 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.

"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Hughson.
