Cubs Get 4-2 Win Versus Boston
The first-place Chicago Cubs took on the Boston Braves in front of a spirited crowd.

Chicago registered a win at Wrigley Field by beating the Boston Braves, 4-2. Pitcher Oscar Judd was one reason why the Cubs triumphed. Judd yielded 2 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 4-1.

The Cubs got a big at-bat from center fielder Carl Furillo. For the game, Furillo was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.

Chicago manager Charlie Grimm commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
