White Sox Pull Off Thrilling 11-8 Win in Extras
Stan Musial added some punch to the Chicago offense, helping them outmuscle the Cleveland Guardians, 11-8. In the game, Musial, who is a two-time All-Star, went 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Chicago reliever Blix Donnelly was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Al Gettel. Cleveland is 3-5 after the defeat.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Jimmy Brown to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the White Sox on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out aggressive," said White Sox manager Jimmy Dykes. "We came out swinging the bats."
