Guardians Win at Chicago, 6-5
Cleveland beat Chicago at Comiskey Park, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to center fielder Hoot Evers. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The loss drops the White Sox to 0-2.

Cleveland used a timely hit from Catfish Metkovich to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Guardians ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We ground out the win," said Metkovich. "That's all that matters."
