Blackwell Blanks Boston, 4-0
Sunday, April 21st , 1946
Ewell Blackwell was in a mood to talk following the Philadelphia Phillies contest against the Boston Braves, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Braves, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Blackwell said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Boston on a 2-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.
