AL Trophy Goes to Spence of Detroit Monday, April 22nd , 1946 When it came to hitting the baseball, Stan Spence was in a class by himself in the AL this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding center fielder for Detroit tagged opposing pitchers for a .550 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 11 hits in 20 at-bats, 0 homers, 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs. |
