Max Lanier kept the St. Louis Cardinals hitters from doing much damage at Sportsmans Park.

St. Louis could only muster 2 hits and draw 2 walks against the left-handed Lanier, who controlled them throughout the game. Brooklyn won the contest, 1-0. Lanier added 4 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Lanier told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."

To this point in the season, Lanier shows a 4-1 record, 5 starts, 45 innings, 25 strikeouts and a 1.40 ERA.
