Red-Hot Lanier Cools Off Cincinnati
Monday, May 20th , 1946
Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Max Lanier really got it done at Ebbets Field in a 3-0 shutout victory over the Cincinnati Reds, shutting them down on 4 hits.
"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Lanier said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The 30-year-old issued 2 walks and had 8 strikeouts in the Dodgers win.
In 9 starts this season, Lanier has rung up a 6-2 record and a 2.42 ERA.
