Kennedy Wins Rookie of the Month Saturday, June 1st , 1946 Despite his newness to the NL, last month Monte Kennedy put up solid numbers and claimed the Rookie of the Month Award. In May the Brooklyn starter went 3-1, tossed 43.1 innings with 14 strikeouts and held the opposition to a .259 average. If Kennedy continues at this pace, he will certainly have a long and profitable Major League Baseball career. Thus far this season, Kennedy has posted a 4-1 record, started 7 games, struck out 15 batters in 49.1 innings and compiled a 3.10 ERA. |
